Am I legible for an apprenticeship with Barloworld?
To be legible you need to be living in the United Kingdom and not taking part in full time education. Additionally you must be at least 16years old to qualify for the program.
How do I make an application?
You can apply for all our apprentice positions on this site. Simply follow the ‘Apply Here’ button and complete the application form. If you meet our minimum qualifying conditions you will receive an email to say we are considering your application.
What is the selection process?
Our apprenticeships are very popular and we receive hundreds of applications every year. All applications meeting our minimum requirements are reviewed and the top candidates are shortlisted for interview. If you have been shortlisted you will be asked to attend an interview at one of our regional centers and you may also be asked to carry out some practical tests so we can see if you are suitable for the job. (Don’t worry though we are very nice people really)
I applied for an apprenticeship sometime ago but haven’t heard anymore
Barloworld Handling receives hundreds of applications a year for our apprenticeships. Unfortunately we can’t reply individually to all applications. If you have been shortlisted we will be in touch as soon as possible to arrange an interview. If you have not heard from us with 6 weeks we regret your application has not been successful on this occasion, however, we will hold your details on file for 6 months.
How long does the apprenticeship take?
The apprenticeship consists of a fully funded 4 year training program with an option to extend your study further. The program starts in September each year.
Where will I be based?
You will be based at one of our regional service centers. When you complete the application form you will be able to select from a number of locations where we are currently recruiting.
What does the training consist of?
The apprenticeship consists of a mixture of practical on the job training combined with day release at engineering college to work towards your NVQ level 3 or BTEC qualifications in Forklift Engineering. You will have a Mentor (like a teacher who lives in the real world) who will work with you on the job helping to develop your skills and knowledge.
Do I get any Holidays?
Yes, like all Barloworld Handling employees you will receive 23 days holiday per year plus standard bank holiday entitlement.

The number of apprentices taken on varies from year to year depending on the needs of the business but on average we employ 20 to 30 new apprentices each year nationwide.
When does the course start?

Is there a deadline for applications?
