Apprentice Service Engineer
Job Descripton
To undertake training in the form of a modern apprenticeship leading to a recognised qualification in the industry. This training will be to attend college for two weeks six times a year and in house training courses which also include manufacturer courses. You will also be hands on within the local workshop / site gaining knowledge and experience in all the functions listed under the key responsibilities section.
Key Responsibilities
- To work alongside a nominated mentor learning all aspects of service and repair work on materials handling equipment.
- To be available to attend a nominated college on allocated dates.
- To complete all college course work on time.
- To attend the in house training courses scheduled for the apprentice training program and complete any required project work for this programme.
- To complete the apprentice diary and present it on time to relevant personnel for verification and signatures.
- To comply with the company dress code when at work and attending training courses and college.
- Ensure all PPE is in date and safe, and used in accordance with company guidelines.
- To be responsible for the cleanliness and safety of working area in designated working environment.
- Ensure all calibrated equipment is in date and certified before using and information is recorded correctly in the equipment usage register folder.
- When required enter all data accurately on the time sheets at each stage of the process and submitted on time, and use all tools and equipment supplied in order to maximise business efficiency.
- To complete all appropriate documentation and review with line manager.
- To adhere to all company guidelines concerning Health and Safety procedures.
- To communicate effectively at all levels, both internally and externally, in order to avoid miss-understandings and error.
- To carry out service work at the company’s request, either in the workshop or in the field.
- Be responsible for the upkeep of Company assets such as Machinery, tools, etc.
- Ensure workshop area’s including canteen and rest rooms and toilets are kept clean and tidy.
- To follow company policies, procedures, quality guidelines etc. at all times.
