As an apprentice you will get paid at least £200 per week straight away - much more than the vast majority of full time students! (Don't tell anyone though or you'll be buying all the drinks)
All your course work is fully funded so you won't end up with huge debts to pay at the end of your course. We'll even pay you some extra allowances when you're at college.
There are other benefits too. You get some trendy new Barloworld work wear and there is the option of joining the excellent Barloworld pension scheme.
Longer term Benefits
Once you have completed your apprenticeship you will become a fully qualified service engineer and can expect to earn from £17,000 per annum plus benefits.
Training does not stop once an apprentice is qualified. Engineers have to be keep up to date with changes in technology and learn about different and new types of equipment. Barloworld operates training centres of excellence where its own Instructors facilitate courses. This can involve tasks such as stripping down components from LPG converters to full size engines and transmissions.
Moving forward there are some great career opportunities within the Barloworld Handling Group within service and engineering or indeed branching out into other departments. Many of our senior managers started their careers as a forklift apprentices. Forklift technicians are highly regarded in our business and there is plenty of scope for future progression.
